Our Mission Statement The mission of the Commission is to enhance the social and economic quality of life of our community by providing and maintaining, consistent with financial resources available to the Commission, a safe and efficient system of county roads and streets for the citizens of Manistee County and to continuously strive to improve the quality of the service we deliver.  


The Manistee County Road Commission will hold a public meeting at 10:00 AM Thursday,
December 13, 2018 at the Manistee County Road Commission offices
(8946 Chippewa Hwy, Bear Lake, MI 49614) to select federal-aid
eligible Manistee County transportation projects for years
2021 – 2023 and in accordance with Fixing America’s Surface
Transportation (FAST Act) legislation. The Board will accept
written comments at their Manistee office prior to the hearing.
The projects selected from this meeting will be presented at the
10-B Task Force meeting tentatively scheduled for January, 2019.

2018-2019 Winter Snow Report

12/13/18   7:00 a.m.

Approximate Snow fall to date =  16 in.

Approximate Snowfall last winter on same date =  26 in.


The Coates Highway over Big Manistee River Bridge Replacement project (Red Bridge) is substantially completed and the bridge was opened to thru traffic on October 19, 2018.



It will be closing again in the spring for more maintenance work.
